This year on January 4, 2017 my younger sister Alexis Marie would have been 34 years old if she was still alive.
Her time with my family lasted nearly 12 years. In those years she suffered many physical ailments due to disabilities she had been born with. She spent several months out of every year at a Children's Hospital as well as our local hospital.
The doctors, nurses and care provided at both places were invaluable to both Alexis and our family. Many became great friends in the time spent with them. Not only was she medically treated and provided for, but they helped care for her spirit as well as ours. They lifted them, gave us hope, strength and comfort.
The costs for all her time spent in hospitals was truely extensive. It was a hardship for my parents to cover, especially while still working to provide for me and my siblings. This is why I feel so strongly about the opportunity to raise money for Arkansas Children's Hospital. Running in the Russvegas Half Marathon as an ACH Angel means I can help raise more to contribute to another child and family standing in need.
As a Medical Assistant I interact and see many that will require care from ACH. Any way that we can help show support to those facing what my sister and many other do- is worth it!
Please sponsor me in this run, all money raised goes directly the ACH. Donate now!
Thank you for your support!
