Every day, San Diego families, military members, elderly and the disabled put food on their tables using CalFresh, formerly known as food stamps. The average CalFresh allotment for each person in San Diego is only $4.27 per day or $29.89 per week.
In the month of September, Hunger Action Month, the San Diego Hunger Coalition and our partners are asking you to walk in the shoes of those living with this reality every day.
Join us on Monday September 19 or challenge yourself for up to a week though Sunday, September 25 to feed yourself on a food stamp budget.
By taking the Challenge you will raise awareness about food scarcity in our own backyard and join in the fight against hunger in our community!
