Dear Margo,

Thank you so, so much for giving to Honoring the Path of the Warrior! Now that the Crowdrise campaign is over and the results are in, we wanted to take a moment and send a very heartfelt thank you. In case you didn't know, we came in 3rd place and received an additional $15,000 from Craig Newmark. We're also getting some visibility in the Huffington Post! We're very excited and deeply moved by how the campaign turned out.

We've been very busy since the campaign ended, getting ready for our next event. We're about to head out on our annual Whitewater Rafting trip on Monday with both new vets, who haven't experienced HPW yet, as well as several for whom this is an important, annual time of self-care, renewal and practice… I know it will be another profound and transformative retreat for all who participate.

Please keep us in your hearts and mind, and please know that you are now on this journey with us. If you have an opportunity to let people know about us and our work, we welcome that, too. People are welcome to contact us any time through our Development manager, Dyan Ferguson - dyan@honoringthepath.org or 415-310-7075.

We thought we'd leave you with a few quotes that express the essence of what HPW hopes to offer to veterans. We hope you are inspired and nourished by these.

With bows of gratitude -

Lee, Dyan and Chris
Staff of Honoring the Path of the Warrior

It is essential to realize and embrace the paradox that while no one can go through your journey for you, you are not alone. Everyone is on the same journey. Everyone shares the same pains, the same confusions, the same fears, which if put between us, lose their edges and so cut us less.

Mark Nepo, The Book of Awakening

“How are we going to spend this brief lifetime? Are we going to strengthen our well-perfected ability to struggle against uncertainty, or are we going to train in letting go? Are we going to hold on stubbornly to “I’m like this and you’re like that”? Or are we going to move beyond that narrow mind? Could we start to train as a warrior, aspiring to reconnect with the natural flexibility of our being and to help others do the same? If we start to move in this direction, limitless possibilities will begin to open up.”
