THE STORY:

Hello everyone, my name is Mariah I am 19 years old. One June 18th of this year at All Childrens Hospital, I underwent a brain surgery. This surgery was for a rare brain malformation called Chiari Malformation. Chiari malformation is where the bottom half of your brain descends into your spinal cord and puts pressure on all of your brain and of course, your spinal cord. My herniation was 11mm, meaning thats how far my brain was down my spinal cord. This evil malformation only affects every 1 in 1,000. This surgery was suppose to relive pressure and take away my symptoms of terrible migraines, balence problems and many more. I would like to say my surgery was a success, but if it was I wouldn't be here creating a fundraiser site. Since my surgery I was experiencing full body pain, was falling down, constantly dizzy and I was having muscle spasms. On September 30th after I just got home from working a shift at my job my muscle spasms were insane, my whole body was jerking. My mother and my boyfriend brought me to Trinity Medical Center immediately. Within 30 minutes of being there my spasms turned into seizures. I was admitted for 4 days and was diagnoised with "pseudoseizures". In November I was diagnosed with Central pain syndrome. When you have seizures you are not allowed to drive for up to two years untill your seizure free. I have around 10 seizures a day, some days less, some days more. With this happening I was put on medical leave. I have not been working since October 7th. Central pain syndrome is a neurological disorder that causes constant chronic pain, burning sensations, pins and needles feeling and is diasbling. At Nineteen years old I am in a wheelchair. As you can imagine I go to the doctor constantly to be exact weekly sometimes bi-weekly. I see specialists as well and I'm suppose to go to physical threapy 2-3 times a week. I do have insurance but I have a copay for everything including medications. I am currently on 5 diffrent medications and one of them I have to take 5 times a day. My mother is a single mom and my boyfriend doesn't work right now because hes a college student and takes care of me basically full time. I have had to cancel many appointments due to not having the copay. I have applied for disability but I wont get an answer untill around March. Most people get denied the first few times so I may not even get it. Im in desperate need for help so I can go to the doctor, go see the specialists I need to see and do my physical threapy like I am suppose to. Starting January of 2016, my out of pocket maximum for health care is $920. I dont have anything towards that since I have been out of work. I also need money incase I get denied my first try with the Disability. I will be beyond greatful for any donations of any amount. I stress everyday about how im going to pay for physical threapy, doc appointments and so on. Most times I have to cancel because I dont have the copay. All proceeds go to my health care, meeting my out of pocket maximum and giving me money for food and bills untill I get disability if I even get it first try. Any help would seriously mean the world to me regardless of the amount. Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
