EVENT DATE: Apr 05, 2014
Most of you who know me know that I've been passionate about the autism cause for years. My youngest brother, Carl, is on the autism spectrum, which initially sparked my interest in the cause. As I've moved about over the last 10+ years, I've tried to find and support local autism causes. Now that I have settled down in the NYC Metro Area, I went on a quest to find an local austim charity that I could support for the long haul. Enter QSAC.
Last summer, I found out about QSAC, a non-profit that supports persons on the autism spectrum from childhood to adulthood in NYC. The organization supports persons with autism in many ways - from early chidlhood education, to family support groups, to homes to enable independent living in adulthood. QSAC has served the NYC community for over 35 years and continues to expand.
I was humbed to have joined the board of this impressive organization last fall. In support of QSAC, I am running a 10 miler in my hometown of Washington, DC. My husband and several of my friends will be running with me in DC and my family (including Carl) will be in the crowds that day to support us.
If you can, please help me support this worthy cause. For more information about the organization, go to http://www.qsac.com/.
