As many of you know, I work for iMentor. iMentor is a non-profit organization that believes that every student deserves a champion. We pair low-income & first generation students in New York City, Chicago and the Bay Area with a mentor to help them succeed in high school, college and achieve their ambitions.
I have been an employee of iMentor since 2010 and I have been volunteering with iMentor since 2004. So, needless to say, iMentor is a huge part of my life. During my tenure, I've had the privilege of mentoring five young women. My most recent mentee, Cheyenne, is a student at the Rochester Institute of Technology. My other most recent mentee, Nelly, graduated from Brooklyn College with a degree in Theatre (Scenic & Prop Design) and she and I are still friends! I love seeing her updates about what she's working on in the industry. Nelly even now mentors students who participate in Robotics, an activity that she loved as a student. Help iMentor continue building strong relationships for students who need a mentor - a champion.
