Marie's AML survivor fund
Organized by: Raul Sanchez
On August 4th 2014, my best Marie was diagnosed with AML with a Flit 3 mutation. Her journey began. She thouht that it was all stress from work, therefore had given here resignation and made several interviews for closer job and less stress. little did she know that on the day of her first job interview she would recieve the dreadfull news about her contion. As a trooper she whated the fight to start as soon as possible. She stsrted with chemo on August 7th 2014 to get into remission. After several months of chemo and in and out of the hospital she contracted Phneumonia and we almost lost her. Doctors advise that the only solution to try and make her better, they recomended a stem cell transplant. The search begun to find a match, Her biological siblings were no match, therefore we had to apply for a donor. Out of 23 million donors there was no match. MD Anderson Hospital in Houston was the closest place to get a stemcell tranplant with a half match. Her two boys were tested and the youngest was the best match. We (friends) rallied together and had a funraiser to her with her bills and medical bills. After 9 months after the stemcell she still can't work and there are no help for her situation. We are starting a new funraiser for her again. She has no help for her bills and paying her mortgage.
