All About Marilyn

Marilyn Monroe's humble beginnings were riddled with uncertainty. A mother forced to turn Norma Jeane over to the orphanage to care for her as she was unable to do so due to mental illness. Originally, the Los Angeles Orphans Home Society founded in 1880. Hollygrove has over 125-year history of service to children in Los Angeles. It is Hollygrove that Norma Jeane (Marilyn Monroe) spent two years of herchildhood. Later, Marilyn Monroe traveled to Mexico in February 1962, while she was there she donated $10K to an orphanage. Some say she even considered adopting a child at a later time. Unfortunately, Marilyn would pass away in August 1962. In Marilyn's Last Will and Testament she gave generously to charities, one being specifically for the betterment of children--still in existence today. In addition, to being historians and preservationist, the mission has always been that All About Marilyn to give back to the community in her name. The All About Marilyn organization and Hollygrove have ties going as far back as 1984 and serving as the official authority and ambassador of Marilyn Monroe. All About Marilyn continues to be on the committee of the annual Norma Jean(e) Gala and various other projects with Hollygrove. The Endless Summer and Camp Hollygrove After School Therapeutic Program gives children a place to express themselves and replace traumatic childhood memories with positive new experiences, (see video below). This fundraiser helps send a child to Summer camp and/or allow them to have the necessary items to participate without want or need and to just be a kid for a while. Donations will go towards: towels, sun screen, books, art supplies, hygiene products and of course camp. However, if you prefer to donation items and not cash--please contact: to make arrangements.

Please consider donating any amount because every kid is a rising star!
