I am a marine corps veteran and I served my country faithfully from 1998-2002. I received a honorable discharge in 2002 and continued on with my life. However the best and worst times that I had in the marine corps was from years 2000-2001 when I was assigned to the 26th marine expeditionary unit (MSSG 26). We were the first group of marines deployed to Afghanistan right after 9/11 and the comradery and experience we had was unlike any other. I am sure you can imagine some of the things that me and my fellow marines had to go thru. Even though none of us have seen each other in 13 years I still keep in touch with my fellow marines thru facebook and social media. We were talking about setting up a reunion/vacation where we could all reunite and bring our families and just have a well deserved reunion/vacation. While this may not be a issue for a few of us, the cost associated with something like this is a issue for most of us. We are also spread out all around the US and even the world and everyone's financial situation is different. This fundraiser will help raise money so we can give every single marine that was in this special group a chance to come to this reunion for a well deserved vacation/reunite. This includes at least 200 marines. All gave some, and some gave all for our country, we will appreciate anything that our country can give back to us. Thank you and Semper Fi!!
