Born in Colombia Mario relocated to Brooklyn at the age of nine and spent his formative years later moving to rural Pennsylvania where he attend high school and became involved in all different sports.
While living in Pennsylvania, Mario played a diversity of sports as he was no longer limited to only soccer a favorite sport enjoyed by South Americans.
He enjoyed swimming, track football as well as racquetball and martial arts.
He overcame adversity when he arrived in Brooklyn at the age of nine and couldn't speak a word of English. Children were not always kind to him but he overcame his language barrier as he is determined and motivated.
His motto: what doesn't kill you makes you stronger has always been his strength and fortitude as he overcame various personal challenges.
Mario continues to triumph as he grew stronger as he overcame each obstacle with determination and a positive attitude.
His role models include his three favorite ladies: his mother, aunt and grandmother.
