2015 ITL Walk Overview
Welcome to "It's time to be SEIZURE FREE!" The time has come again for the 4th annual 'Into the Light' walk for epilepsy. Although it's only my second year participating in the walk, I've lived with epilepsy for 11 years. Living with epilepsy is a lot more than just having seizures. There are pre-seizures and random dizziness that affect daily living, horrible medication side-effects, life-long seizure side effects, and much, much more. God has been so good to me and although my epilepsy is not 100% controlled, it is far more controlled than many unfortunate people--young & old--out there. What I go through every now & then is NOTHING compared to what some people have to live with on a daily basis--sometimes multiple times a day! I've been lucky enough to not have any lasting side effects from my seizures, whereas many others have, unfortunately, not been so lucky. So, although a part of me walks this walk for myself, majority of my heart is in it for the ones who are suffering far worse out there; especially the children & their parents. It's imperative that we help find a cure for them!! The more we walk, the more awareness is spread. The more we fundraise, the more research is able to go into finding a cure!
