I wanted to take a moment, a few weeks after the finish of the Boston Marathon, to thank you, once again, for your incredible support for Team UNICEF and my run.

Thanks to you, I was able to fulfill a life-long dream and run a marathon. To do it in Boston, for the children of the world, was almost too good to be true, and I will never forget the experience. The Marathon itself was just so much fun—well, the first 21 miles were, anyway!—and the energy on the course was contagious and overwhelming. Hearing “Come on, UNICEF, you got this!” for 26.2 miles was breath-taking. Seeing the look on my children’s faces when I saw them at Mile 17 is truly one of the highlights of my life. Thank you!

Thanks to you, Team UNICEF raised over $95,000 for UNICEF Kid Power. With this money, 1900 children in Boston and around the U.S. will take part in Kid Power in the coming year, becoming life-saving heroes for their peers around the world. If this year’s program is any indication, these children and so many others like them will save thousands of lives. http://www.unicefkidpower.org/ Thank you!

Thanks to you, we were able to make the case to have a larger team for the Boston Marathon in 2016. Amazing! And, in case you missed it, UNICEF Kid Power will be partnered with Star Wars Force for Good, and as we near the release of the new movie in December, I am sure you will be seeing much more about it. We could not have done this without you: thank you!

Truly, thank you so much for your support, kind words, and contributions. Thank you for cheering on the runners on the course, from afar, or even on an airplane. Thank you for believing that personal change is possible, and that together, we really can change the world, for ourselves and for children everywhere.

Thank you!

With my very best wishes, and gratitude,

Thank you, once again, for y…
Thank you, once again, for your amazing support of my Boston Marathon effort! Thanks to you, I have exceeded my goal of $10,000, and I can not thank you enough for making that possible. Thank you!

With your support, UNICEF Kid Power is up-and-running, with over 7,700 American kids active in Boston and New York, saving lives by providing nutrition for severely malnourished children around the world. (Dallas and another 2,000+ kids will start their program on March 16.) It is an amazing program, and I invite you to check out the kids' progress at http://www.unicefkidpower.org/. The information on the page updates regularly, and you can see how many steps they've taken, how many miles they've walked (44,000 in 4 days!), and how many food packets they have provided for their peers (11,000 as I write this). Children are just amazing!

As for the Marathon and my preparation, I have run 584 miles and have about 250 training miles left to go. The weather is getting (a bit) better, the snow is melting, and it is starting to feel real. I am carrying your support with me, and I think about you on the long runs, especially when I would rather stop running. :)

Truly, on so many levels, you are making an incredible impact. On behalf of me, the American children taking part in Kid Power, and the children around the world receiving vital care, thank you SO MUCH for your support! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Macari, Michael, Allie, and Mark—

Thank you SO much for making a contribution to my run in the Boston Marathon! It means so, so much to me to have your support, and to know that there are so many people who want to see this Kid Power program take off in Boston and beyond. Thank you!

You have all done so much for the world's children, and for launching Kid Power. (Not to mention all of the other things you are doing, like teaching and social work!) You are truly champions for children everywhere, and I am just amazed by how you are talking the talk, and walking the walk every day. Thank YOU for all you do!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!
