Thanks for clicking to follow our climb and the charity which helps families in need. This October, sixteen people will join together with a pack full of gear, determined hearts, and the goal to summit "The Roof of Africa" (Mt. Kilimanjaro). During the climb our team will meet some difficult terrain and conditions. Some of the challenges will be tougher than many of us have ever faced. Mt. Kilimanjaro has a peak that looms more than 19,000 feet up into the sky and there is half as much oxygen at the summit as there is at sea level. It is the tallest mountain in Africa as well as the tallest freestanding mountain in the world. The seven day hike will cover four climate zones and over 30 miles. Our goal is to climb Kilimanjaro’s peak safely while raising awareness and funding for a charity that helps many: It happened to Alexa Foundation.
The purpose of It Happened to Alexa is to help support rape survivors through the trauma of a criminal trial. Established in 2003, the foundation assists rape victims’ families with travel expenses throughout the litigation process so they can be present for their loved ones. It could use your support, so please click on the charity link to learn more.
