Mark's Medical Bills and Lost Wages
Organized by: Teresa Bacon
Mark was on his way to work this morning when his car ran out of gas. He pulled into the nearest gas station, got out of the car and began pumping gas. Mark was standing at his car pumping gas when 3 men approached him. Guy A came up behind him and punched him in the back of the head while Guy B and C began punching and kicking him. After guy A punched him in the back of his head he began going through Mark's car taking anything and everything he wanted. Guy B was wearing steel toe shoes and was kicking Mark in the Ribs and Back. Guy C had brass knuckles and was punching Mark in the face. Before falling to the ground, Mark was able to yell for help and finally after being badly beaten up, the gas station attendant heard him and came running out causing the 3 guys to run away with Mark's car keys, wallet, credit cards, iphone, items from his car and money he was just paid for last weeks work. Mark works two jobs to pay his bills and lives pay check to pay check. He has a son and a girlfriend with a son and is the sole provider for his family. Mark refused an ambulance ride and emergency room treatment because he wouldn't be able to pay the bill and went to Urgent Care. Mark's face needed 30 stitches and he will need dental work for teeth that were knocked out after his face swelling goes down in about a week. Luckily nothing was broken however, Mark did suffer bruised ribs and swelling of his internal organs. The doctor who stitched him up told him he needed to take the next 5 days off of work to let his body heal and rest from the trauma. Mark, being the sole provider for his family does not want to follow doctors orders and stay home to heal as him and his family need the money for bills. With the money that was stolen and the money he will be out if we, his friends, can convince him to stay home and heal, him and his family will be in a financial hardship more than they already are. Please, Lets help Mark and his family with the medical bills he will now have and help him stay home and recover from this traumatic event.
