On Monday April 18th, we left our mark at a historical event. The 120th Boston Marathon was an amazing and humbling experience. Thank you for your support along the way!

Over the last 5 years I've run a ton of races, but this was my first as a charity runner. I met an incredible group of people and learned about many fantastic charities. Charity runners run hard because they care hard. They are driven by a mission beyond themselves.

On the race course I saw runners overcoming incredible physical challenges that made me realize life has no limits. Their hearts and grit carried them to the finish.

During the race, the hills and heat were terrible. At mile 21 my body ached and I wanted to walk instead of run, but my heart and spirit prevailed. Running a marathon takes you to the edge - pushes your limits, it breaks you and then brings you back.

It was not my first race, but I am forever changed by this experience. We did something special. Thank you for being part of the journey.

XOXO

Mark-
Thanks so much for your kind donation. It means a lot when it comes from a fellow Charity Teams runner. I am sure you are happy with the UConn victories this weekend. Now UConn plays Colorado which is where Nate Solder played his college football so I will have to root for Colorado.
See you at the Hop 21.

MZ-I know I have thanked you in the past but wanted to make it official on Crowdrise. Getting to know you this year has been great and I appreciate all of your support. Looking forward to crossing that finish line on April 18-even if we are wearing Hot Pink.
Thanks again

Hi All, The Boston Marathon…
Hi All,

The Boston Marathon is tomorrow and I wanted to extend a huge thank you for your generous donation to GoKids and support along the way. I started this journey six months ago and feel prepared to tackle 26.2 miles on Monday.

Most importantly, due to you, I have raised $5,700 ($700 over my goal!) that will directly support youth scholarships, so that Boston students can attend GoKids fitness programs at no cost to their families. Because of you, students in Boston Public Schools will be able to participate in cardio workouts, nutrition lessons, strength training sessions, and learn about the science behind their workouts.

If you'd like to track me tomorrow, you can do so by text, web or mobile app.

BAA website: http://www.baa.org/

Text Alerts: Simply text my Bib Number (29849) to 234567 using your mobile phone. On race day, you will receive six text alerts as I reach the 10k, 13.1 mile, 30k, 35k, 40k and Finish Line.

BAA Marathon Mobile App:

Android - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.baa.marathon&hl=en
iPhone - https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/boston-athletic-association/id632231310

Thanks again for supporting GoKids and making my dreams come true.

Love,
Gina

As Marathon weekend is upon us, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank each of you again for supporting me on this journey! And what a journey it has been. Whether it was training through the worst winter in Boston history, constantly being surprised by people's generosity, or making new friends - this will be an experience I will never forget.

I never would have gotten to this point without each and every one of you. Whether you gave one dollar, twenty, or hundreds, you each are making such a difference for cancer patients and their families and helping me to keep putting one foot in front of the other come Monday.

I have one last request. I hope you will forward this email and link to one person that you think will identify with the message of the Joe Andruzzi Foundation and would be interested in helping me reach my goal of $8000 by Monday.

Again, thank you so much for both the financial and emotional support during this journey. I couldn't have done it without you. Now bring on the Marathon!!

Hello,

I thought I would update all my donors to let you know that with your support we have raised $6,623 to date! What an incredible accomplishment and I have YOU to thank for that! The race is only 5 days away and I'd like to share with you a few highlights AND lowlights from training:

• Lowlight: One COLD February, I got dressed and opened the door on a Saturday morning for an 8 mile run and it was FREEZING and SNOWING. I said “No way” to myself and hit the treadmill. I never missed another Saturday long run with my training group outside again. The weather won that day but after that I got outside.
• Lowlight: Running Heartbreak Hill for the first time. I'm so lucky that I live in Boston and I got to run the course every Saturday with my CharityTeam of runners. I was on the course and I started to push through a hill pretty hard and I realized after that it wasn't even Heartbreak Hill. Marathon training is a slow learning process!
• Lowlight: On a 14 miler run, I walked most of the second half. I felt very defeated that day
• Highlight: Jumping in a pile of snow and getting a ton of donations from YOU
• Lowlight: Jumping in a pile of snow
• Highlight: Meeting the CharityTeam runners and learning more about their charities
• Highlight: Running 17 miles from Natick to Boston as a Ninja Turtle
• Highlight: Running 21 miles from Hopkinton to Newton in a blizzard
• Highlight: Being handed a red rock during the 21 miler to symbolize the Hill training our group does every Tuesday in Newton. I will carry this rock on race day to remind me of the incredible support of charity runners!
• Highlight: Connecting with old friends through YOUR support!

Thank you for your generous donation in support of the South Boston Neighborhood House! I’m so grateful for this experience and to have you be a part of it.

You can track me on race day (Monday, April 20th) by texting my Bib Number: 29888 to the phone number 234567. There is also a mobile app “BAA 2015” that you can download for free as well.

GO BOSTON!

Last Monday, I accomplished …
Last Monday, I accomplished a goal that I never imagined that I would take on. I finished the 2014 Boston Marathon. It was not an easy race at all and the heat tried to get the best of me, but I persevered. I gave everything I had to run down Boylston to do justice for all those I was running for.

However, I never would have made it to the starting line without your support and generosity. I was able to surpass my goal and I raised $8,436 for Walk Boston. I am so grateful for each penny, because each one matters. All the money raised will go to making Massachusetts a more pedestrian friendly state and will help keep routes to school safe for all the children out there.

My teammates and I also raised more than our charity hoped for and topped off at $49,488. We were one of the smaller teams out there but we were fierce!

Thank you again for everything. I wouldn't be me without all of you. And maybe next year, you will be next to me on the starting line. :)
