It is fitting that this event is on the day before Mother’s Day. As we celebrate mothers everywhere this weekend, let us pause to celebrate the women throughout the world that bear the pain and anguish from the lack of clean water sources to keep their families healthy.
Water & Women. Many women spend 20 hours per week collecting water, some walking 7 miles a day, often for contaminated water. Too often the walk is not safe for them physically. It is women and the children they raise who suffer most without water, and who benefit most from access to it.
Come experience hands on activities designed to help all of us understand the problems related to the lack of clean water sources and how Living Water International is helping to correct this problem one well at a time and you can too!
What can you do? Please join us in our goal to raise $30,000 that will provide 3 wells; One in Haiti, Central America, and Mexico.
How? It’s easy and fun too! Become a registered walker with a minimum of just 5 sponsors! You can register online! When you register you will then have your own unique site for your sponsors to go online and make their contribution under your name. In the event they do not wish to contribute online please have them make their check to St. Augustine Episcopal Church and in the memo line LWI/ (your name). We will award prizes to the individual walker, school and church raising the most money.
We hope you will set a personal fund raising goal of 5 sponsors @ $20.00 each. This will help us reach our event goal of $30,000 which will fund a minimum of 3 wells, one in Haiti, one in Central America and one in Mexico. Together we can transform the lives of many people living in three villages.
