BENEFITING: The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
EVENT DATE: Mar 16, 2014
2013 was a great year for my running addiction. I crossed five half marathon finishlines, upping my total to eight, and I beat my personal best in November when I ran the streets of Philadelphia, coming in at 1:51:42! After being lucky enough to travel all over the country to run for for my own personal pleasure, I decided that 2014 was going to be my year to give back. And what better way to do that than on my 26th birthday, right here in New York City.
In April of 2003, my best friend Rena, was struck by a car and was sent into a coma. She lived the rest of her short life with extreme brain damage, and was in and out of rehab centers. She died from pnemonia in 2009 while living in Sacramento, California, and my life has been forever changed. I'm running my ninth half marathon in honor Rena, by joining Team Hole in the Wall for the 2014 New York City Half Marathon.
In order to reach my goal of raising $1500, I am in need of your support. Your donation will help The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, which provides "a different kind of healing" to more than 20,000 children and families battling serious illness each year, completely free of charge. No donation is too small, and anything that you can do to help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks so much in advance for your support. I know Rena will be with me as I take on the streets of the city!
