BENEFITING: Wildlands Restoration Volunteers
EVENT DATE: Sep 22, 2012
I am running The Denver Marathon on Sept 22nd to raise money for Wildlands Restoration Volunteers, a non-profit that is very dear to my heart and has taught me a lot this past year. If you would like to make a donation to my cause, I would be extremely grateful! No donation is too small; even $5 helps a lot! Read on for more info about the organization.
This year I have had the opportunity to sit on the board of an incredible non-profit called Wildlands Restoration Volunteers (WRV). WRV engages thousands of volunteers in over sixty land stewardship projects each year, completing a wide variety of high priority habitat restoration and conservation work throughout Colorado and southern Wyoming. WRV also does fire restoration work, especially in years like this where there have been more fires than usual. I spend so much time in the mountains and gain so much from Colorado's beautiful landscape, so I started working with WRV because I thought it was high time I give back to the lands of this great state. You can read more on their website: www.wlrv.org.
Now I am excited to give back even more by running The Denver Marathon on behalf of WRV. This is not a group fundraiser for WRV; I just decided it would be a great way for me to raise funds for the organization. If you are able to donate to my cause it would mean so much to me. Especially if you have ever taken advantage of hiking Colorado's beautiful trails for free! Or if you know anyone who has been affected by the wildfires in Colorado and Wyoming this year, they do a lot of fire restoration work as well. Again, no donation is too small, every little bit adds up! **If you would rather donate by check, please email me at edeemer [at] gmail.com.
If you don't have the means to donate but would still like to help, consider participating in a WRV volunteer project. Contact me if you are interested or check out their website www.wlrv.org.
Thank you all in advance from the bottom of my heart!
