Week Two - training log
February 28, 2016
BENEFITING: Fairmount Park Conservancy
EVENT DATE: May 01, 2016
Three years ago after finishing my first triathlon, I started running the Blue Cross Broad Street Run, one of America’s favorite 10-mile races, as a yearly fitness goal to maintain for myself in remembrance of my life long struggle toward a healthy BMI. Once I started running, I really caught the running bug ... 2016 marks my fourth time running this race and I've decided to give back to the place where I like to train the best; Fairmount Park. One of the largest urban green spaces in the country, Philadelphia's Fairmount Park consists of more than 9200 acres of trails, woodlands and wetlands.
I’m running on the Fairmount Park Conservancy team to raise money for their charitable partnership with the Broad Street Run. The Fairmount Park Conservancy is the nonprofit champion for Philadelphia's Parks. In 2015, funds raised through their Broad Street Run efforts were used for the enhancement of the Belmont Plateau Cross Country Trails.
By sponsoring me you can help ensure that Philadelphia’s parks are maintained and enhanced for generations to come.
The Broad Street Run is on Sunday, May 1st, 2016.
Don't just run in Fairmount Park, run for it!
Join our Fairmount Park Conservancy Broad Street Run 2016 team of Park Champions and enjoy great perks while raising funds for your favorite place to run; Fairmount Park!
Funds raised will go directly towards enhancements to the historic Belmont Plateau trails. For your support of the Fairmount Park Conservancy, each participant receives the following:
