BENEFITING: TRAIL BLAZER CAMPS
EVENT DATE: Feb 16, 2012
From Martin himself:
I'm finally going to pursue a dream I've had for a long time - I'm hiking across America.
Beginning February 2012, my two dogs Froya and Thor and I are off on an adventure that will take us from our home in New York City to the other side of the country in approximately a year. We're trekking from the east coast to the west, trekking mostly on trails, foot paths and non-vehicular roads. Sleeping only in our tent, and carrying all our equipment on our backs and in our cart, we'll traverse 14 states, hiking through multiple national and state parks, and enjoying some of the most awesome wilderness this country has to offer. I'm documenting the entire trek with my camers and my trusty notebook so I can share the experience with others.
One of the greatest parts about Martin's adventure is his connection to Trail Blazers. Martin has worked at Trail Blazers for three summers, serving as Hiking Specialist, Enabler, and Assistant Director. While he considers himself lucky that he was able to explore the outdoors so much as a child, he appeciates being able to provide a similar experience to youth at Trail Blazers, especially those who wouldn't have otherwise been able to. It was at Trail Blazers that partially contributed to Martin's dream, and so now, he wants to give back.
Support Trail Blazers by supporting Martin on his adventure and donate today. Spread the word and keep updated on his travels.
