EVENT DATE: Mar 16, 2017
THE STORY:
I spent my 50th Birthday in Puerto Rico and last year did not celebrate with the loss of my father. This year I am devoting my 52nd birthday (March 16) to helping others. I am a monthly donor to the Daniel Trust Foundation and ask you to make a donation towards my fundraising birthday goal of $520. Join me in making an impact on the lives of young people and educators, and a difference in their futures.
The Daniel Trust Foundation is a nonprofit organization that invests in and supports students from low-income communities with their educational and career needs and honors teachers who are making a difference in the lives of their students and communities in which they teach. The foundation accomplishes it's mission through 3 targeted programs towards the needs of the community. These programs are: (1) a mentoring program for high school juniors and seniors, (2) a college scholarship program for graduates of the mentoring program and (3) a teacher recognition program. Since 2014, the Daniel Trust Foundation has invested in and supported 52 students and 23 teachers. The foundation has awarded $25,000 to students and $8,000 to teachers. In 2017, the amount awarded to students will increase to $46,000 and $11,000 to teachers. To learn more about the Daniel Trust Foundation, please visit www.DanielTrustFoundation.org.
