EVENT: TI Education Challenge
Marvin's Education Services (M.E.S.) is raising money to provide its School Readiness Curriculum to 33 educational facilities in the Philadelphia Metro area. The M.E.S. School Readiness Curriculum is a valuable resource for parents and education providers which provides a 34 week intervention plan for students in grades Pre-K through 3rd grade. It equips students with important foundation skills such as letter identification, letter sounds, print concepts, phonemic awareness, rote counting rational counting and much more. It is M.E.S.' goal to expose students to positive learning experiences through educational, cultural and recreational activities. By using the M.E.S. approach we will create a safe and nurturing space where students connect purpose with education. We prepare students to become critical thinkers as they proceed through their educational careers and ultimately into adulthood as productive members of society. We create critical thinkers as a means to enrich the educational experience. M.E.S. is a community based company who began in Frankford/Kensington, a low-income, predominantly minority area of Philadelphia and has branched out to other areas of the city that demand its services. M.E.S. is a comprehensive educational firm working with children, adults, and families to provide early childhood education, after-school programming, and science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education as an integral function of its mission in the Philadelphia communities. M.E.S. founder and CEO, Marvin Dutton is was recently honored by President Barack Obama with the President's Volunteer Service Award.
