BENEFITING: The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp
EVENT DATE: Apr 17, 2017
Running Boston again has been a huge dream of mine and last year as I watched runners coming to the top of Heartbreak Hill I knew it was now or never. This year is so special because I am running for Camp. Anyone who has talked to me about Camp at any point over the past 6 years knows how amazing I think it is. For the kids and families that Camp serves it is life changing. My friend Jen decided the best way to celebrate 40 was by running 26.2 miles. She also wanted to add meaning to it so together our goal is to raise enough to send 6 kids for a week of fun, friendship and laughter.
Founded in 1988 by Paul Newman, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp provides "a different kind of healing" to more than 25,000 seriously ill children and family members annually - all completely free of charge. For many of these children and families, Hole in the Wall provides multiple Camp experiences throughout the year at the facility in Ashford, Conn., in more than 35 hospitals and clinics, directly in camper homes and communities, and through other outreach activities across the Northeast.
Our goal is to ensure that every child with a serious medical condition has the chance to experience the world of possibilities that camp has to offer. Through the generosity of others, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp community provides this unique healing experience to kids in need and their families, including those who may not be able to come to Camp.
