BENEFITING: COPD FOUNDATION INC
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2011
This team has been created to commemorate the life of my mother, Mary Elizabeth Fisher, by raising funds for COPD research and education. COPD is a debilitating disease affecting the lungs that my mother struggled with for many years until her death on July 19, 2011. Mary Beth Fisher was a wonderful human being, mother of 8, grandmother of 16 and great grandmother of 17. She passed away on July 19, 2011 surrounded by her family. Mary Beth Fisher served as a public health nurse in Detroit, Michigan after serving in World War II as an Army nurse in the European Theater. She was a founder of the Indian River, Michigan Area Library and was very dedicated to her husband, children and grandchildren. She was thoughtful, caring and patient with all who came into contact with her and provided a wonderful example of the selfless way life should be lived. She will be deeply missed. Her family would like to honor her memory by helping others, especially those affected by COPD.
