The owners of Burton Snowboards, Jake and Donna, started Chill in 1997 to bring snowboarding to youth who otherwise wouldn't have the opportunity. These are youth who face a multitude of challenges, such as poverty, mental health diagnoses, or even substance use. The program was observed to have such a positive impact that it has grown and expanded ever since, and Burton continues to provide personnel and admin support, while we fundraise for programming costs and other direct service expenses for the youth.
I have been involved with Chill since 2007. I have had the privledge to experience Chill as a chaperone, volunteer, and assitant coordinator. Every year, every season, I walk away feeling confident and proud of the positive impact Chill programming has on these youth. This year, these youth need positive opportunities more than ever, so this year we need your support more than ever. There is no denying it's been a rough year for us here in Bmore, please consider supporting a program that supports our youth. For more info, feel free to contact me or scoot on over to Chill.org. Thanks for your time!
(Mary's Disclaimer/Note: I donated the first $100 bucks and noticed crowdwise has some sort of payment processing fee that seems to be about 9%. I recognize payment processing isn't free, but that seems a bit high compared to the average, so wanted to let everyone know. I care less about being able to track what funds I raise and more about the Chill kids getting the funds, so wanted to let you know another option is to donate directly on the Chill website with only a 3% processing fee via this link: http://chill.org/donate/usa/ JUST BE SURE TO DESIGNATE DONATION to DC/Baltimore, and LET ME KNOW so I can personally express gratitude for your contribution. THANKS!
