BENEFITING: United Way Silicon Valley
EVENT DATE: Apr 18, 2013
Learning how to read is the first step towards a strong foundation in education, as the success of these children brightens the future.
I was fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom while my children were preparing for kindergarten. However, not all parents experience the same opportunity as I, as it can be difficult for their children to get the head start needed to prepare for kindergarten.
United Way is working with the Alum Rock School District to help prepare kids for kindergarten with the “Bridge to Kindergarten” program, a free 3-week program designed to give kids the tools they need for a successful start in school.
I am asking for your support in the education of these children as it benefits their future and our own. My goal is $700.00 and your donations will give one child and his/her parent the necessary skills and tools to prepare for kindergarten.
