MaryLee Sunseri - Heal the Broken Leg!
Team Member: Nancy Stewart
Marylee has been my best friend and musical partner for 50 years (wow, that's a loooooong time!). We have stood by each other through thick and thin. But unfortunately, she won't be standing by anything for a long time- at least three months. Last month Marylee shattered her tibial plateau. Without going into medical details, this is way worse than a break, and required specialized surgery. And oh yes, when she was trying to break her fall (no pun intended), she broke her arm too! While she was lying immobilized in her community hospital for five days (waiting to be transferred to a facility that could handle the delicate and specialized surgery required) she developed deep vein thrombosis in both legs. Yikes! This was bad! And this is my best friend! Wendy did a great job getting the Crowdrise site up and running, and I hope to raise additional funds by regaling you with stories of our long and amazing friendship.
While Marylee is unable to work dozens of babies won't be bopping and cooing to her Wee Chant classes, seniors will miss out on their specially crafted gentle yoga classes with her (provided free of charge), countless seniors at Sunrise Senior Living in Monterey will miss out on active reminiscing at her regular sing-alongs, and the Monterey Listening Place Reader's Theater will not have access to Marylee's amazing acting and musical talents. Marylee has been active in every area of the arts in Monterey, California, and she has devoted her life to growing, healing, and uplifting all ages through her music, giving special attention to babies and seniors. Let's join together to support her now, so she can get back to supporting us and her community!
