The first time I heard of Corporal Tillman was when I was a junior at the Air Force Academy and the news of his death was broadcasted over CNN in the Mess Hall. His lived his life to the fullest and was the epitome of the Army Values, Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. It is difficult to find the words to thank someone for their generosity knowing that it is rooted in tragedy. Yet I have the profound responsibility of doing just that. Through despair and sadness, the Tillman foundation was born and the life of Corporal Pat Tillman continues. Through the foundation, Corporal Tillman has become part of my life and has made it possible for other veterans like myself to pursue their dreams. It is an incredibly humbling experience and an honor to be associated with the Tillman Foundation and I can only hope to live up to the life that was laid before me. I am running in honor of those who have fallen before me and those who will fall for me. Isaiah Chapter 6 Verse 8. “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here I am. Send me!"
