Okay, everyone, last year you contributed to Rivals United for a Kure, and your efforts were a big part of our success - we were able to donate $300,000 to research projects at the Comprehensive Cancer Centers of USC and UCLA. Click on the video below to see the check presentations we made to our researchers, and hear about the innovative work they are doing.
Please join us again in 2013 in the fight to find a "kure" by contributing to our team in honor of Mary Sullivan. Twenty two years ago, at age 2, Mary was diagnosed with leukemia. Bravely battling the disease, she underwent procedures, treatments, and side effects, never complaining or questioning. At age 10, Mary went from patient to pioneer by participating in the Phase 1 clinical trial for Gleevec, the very first targeted therapy. After years of being 100% positive for leukemia, Mary went into complete remission after only 8 months on the Gleevec. She is a testimony to the power of research and innovation. Today, Mary continues to take Gleevec and is now thriving at age 24, working as a nanny for two really cute little fellas.
Thanks for reading the story! We hope you will join us in raising money for research, so that we can make more stories like Mary's a reality.
