EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
I am really excited to be running again in this year's Boston Marathon for Team MGH and Fighting Kids Cancer One Step at a Time.
I had the honor of running for this team in last year's Boston Marathon alongside my brother, in support of his son and my nephew. At 6 months old my nephew was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder known as Evan's Disease and has been treated in the Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Department at MGH ever since. I have witnessed firsthand how advances in medicine can truly change and impact the life of a child for the better. It is for this reason that I am running with the hopes that the money I raise will help continue advances in medicine and bring about positive changes that will impact the lives of other children in the future.
Running the Boston Marathon was something that I always wanted to do in my lifetime. However, it was the experiences I had with running for Team MGH last year that were life changing. The children we were running for were so supportive and genuinely happy that it made you feel humble to be doing something as simple as running for them. Their faces would light up just from seeing their names written on people's arms. For me, what made it more memorable was knowing that I was running in my first Boston Marathon ever for my nephew, alongside my brother. Crossing that finish line for the first time was exhilarating and a feeling that I want to achieve again.
This year I am running again for Team MGH and Kids Fighting Cancer One Step at a Time because there is nothing more important and cherished in this world than a child.
Please feel free to donate in support of this great cause!!!
