BENEFITING: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
ORGANIZER: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
As 2014 comes to a close, I am proud to announce that I will be joining the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Team for the 2015 Boston Marathon!
John Hancock gives the Mass General Marathon Program a limited amount of bib numbers annually, which has allowed them to grow a robust marathon program that is dedicated to raising funds to support children with cancer such as lymphoma and lukemia. MGH puts these funds to good use advancing cutting-edge research, increasing the number of clinical studies to improve cure rates and providing the best treatment possible to pediatric cancer patients.
My inspiration for running with the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Team of 2015 is a young woman named Courtney Lynch. Courtney was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL). Over the past month, Courtney has been fighting harder than ever to kick cancer's butt and I continue to be impressed with her drive, determination, and strength. Each week as my running schedule becomes more difficult, I will seek strength by reminding myself what Courtney does every day. To that end, I have labeled my run #CourtneyStrong and want to raise awareness about ALL in honor of Courtney.
Thank you for your support!
