BENEFITING: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
ORGANIZER: MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL HOSPITAL
EVENT: 2015 Boston Marathon
EVENT DATE: Apr 20, 2015
Welcome Family & Friends!
I am so excited to be a part of the Mass General Hospital Pediatric Hematology and Oncology Boston Marathon Team for 2015! As a member of this team, I am raising money to support pediatric cancer research and other patient care programs at the Children's Cancer Center at Mass General Hospital. I can't wait to get started on this journey of fundraising and training for my first marathon!
I can’t think of a better cause to be raising money for than to help fight pediatric cancer. The funds raised by the Mass General Marathon Team will help support clinical studies to improve cure rates, providing the best treatment possible, and supportive care programs for pediatric cancer patients. These programs include therapeutic play, music and art therapy, and various support groups to help children and their families cope with their illnesses.
As an occupational therapy student, I value all individuals being able to do the things they love and have a high quality of life. I hope to work with a pediatric population after I graduate, and am passionate about helping children be able to participate in their most meaningful activities. I am running this marathon to honor the strength these children show while undergoing cancer treatment, and am so excited to fundraise for these programs! I'm sure with my luck it'll be the coldest winter yet, but if these kids can be so strong while undergoing treatment, I can train for this marathon!
I will be training very hard throughout the winter for the marathon, but I will also need your help to reach my fundraising goal of $8,000! Please consider supporting me in raising money to allow children recieving treatment at MGH to continue doing the things they love.
With the support of you all, and lots of (probably cold) training, I hope to be able to finish the marathon strong, and exceed my fundraising goal!
Thank you for your support!
