Match.com victim scammed
Organized by: Janice Gunn
A 75-year-old woman was scammed online from a German man claiming to be have lost money on a business deal gone wrong in Turkey . She is beginning bankruptcy proceedings . Another man scammed her as well for 70, 000, but that is too much to ask for. She is living on social security only and her credit cards are maxed out. She saved me from a similar online dating scam. I want no money for myself, only for her. I have encouraged her to contact the FBI, but she believes this man will repay her if she remains in contact with him on Facebook and cell texting. I know this sounds like another scam, but I have a real address, landline number and I am a taxpaying citizen in Willis, Texas. I am 65, widowed and retired. The German who I met on Match is a friend of her German man. Together, they got her to contact me to assure my German man was sincere in his interest in me. Neither of these men can be found on the internet, they are on Facebook and offer untraceable cell phone nunbers. She is a lovely lady with a heart of gold and looking for a companion like so many of us. I have never been involved in a situation like this. I have not given any money to anyone online and pray no other woman does. My friend is openly on the internet with her name, address and phone number. Oh, the other man she wired money to claims to be Irish and American. He supposedly is stuck in another country and can't get home. The $70,000 she wired him was to return his daughter to the United States and to support him while he tries to get his passport back from whatever government is holding it. She has pictures of both men and I tried to use the Google site where you can upload pictures to find them with similar profiles. No luck there. Her two daughters and one brother have turned their backs on her, telling her how stupid she was for falling for these scams. I can't afford to help her. I hope some of you can. I know that $20, 000 won't stop her bancruptcy, but at least she would have money to live on in addition to her social security and be able to pay her rent. I was on Match.com for only one month. I discourage everyone from attempting to find someone on a dating site. It's better to be alone than to be alone and broke. I will continue to be her friend on the phone and try to support her emotionally. I am not and never have been on Facebook or any other social sites other than Match.com.
