THE STORY:

UNDERSTANDING OUR DIFFERENCES INC wrote -

Matt Stafford's goal is to raise $7,500 for UOD.

I am very proud to be running the Boston Marathon for Understanding Our Differences (UOD). UOD embodies the values that I strive to teach my children and I am glad to have this chance to help them in their mission to bring their message to children all over. To learn about UOD click here

UOD’s disability awareness program teaches elementary school children to develop understanding and respect for fellow students and others with disabilities. This program helps to reduce bullying, intolerance, and creates an environment of respect where all children can thrive.

I have seen first hand how the children are taught to accept the differences among their peers. I have been fortunate that my children attend a school where the UOD curriculum has been taught for many years. I am grateful that my children benefit from the impact of UOD on the culture of inclusion where they learn, and also that they are learning these values. My children’s school is an academy of inclusion, where all children, regardless of their differences, are accommodated and welcomed by the administration as well as by their peers. Understanding Our Differences works to make sure that children all over grow up to be respectful and welcoming of the differences that make our world interesting and beautiful.
