Homeownership is a defining symbol of the American Dream. This is because safe, affordable, and decent housing are more than just shelter from the elements. It provides security, community, and hope for the future.
Since 1988, Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity has helped hundreds of lower-income families and individuals in Lucas County realize and sustain their own American Dream while generating and supporting measurable social and economic change in our community. Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity has had the privilege of carrying out that impassioned work by building, rehabbing and repairing homes and hope in neighborhoods throughout Northwest Ohio.
Through our Homeownership Program, qualified partner families purchase their home with a 0% interest mortgage. Our volunteers and sponsors have helped Maumee Valley Habitat for Humanity house over 175 families, including well over 400 children. And, our Home Repair Ministry has provided critical repairs for over 125 lower-income homeowners since 2008. Every dollar Maumee Valley Habitat invests in affordable housing results in $141.47 in social benefits and costs saved in our community.
Please support Maumee Valley Habitat’s “American Dream Initiative” through the Art Van Million Dollar Charity Challenge and help us provide more Northwest Ohio families and individuals with a chance to realize the American Dream.
