As part of my Bar Mitzvah project, I have chosen to help benefit the Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House's goal is to provide a true “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children receiving care at medical facilities near their locations in Long Branch and New Brunswick. They offer a welcoming, supportive environment for families during a time of uncertainty and stress. Family members can stay together in a comfortable home with private rooms and many amenities, helping them to remain strong throughout the course of their child’s treatment.
This charity is very important because it allows families to stay together in times of crisis. My family has been lucky enough that we never had to stay overnight at a hospital, but if I ever did have to stay overnight, I would want my family close by and not worrying about how to pay for the expense of hotels. I want this for others too.
We all deserve to live and enjoy life to the fullest, but to be trapped in a hospital room knowing that your family is far away or is worrying about how to pay for hotels and meals is not enjoying anything and is just making it harder for the kids to heal. That is why the Ronald McDonald House was opened and that is why I choose to support it.
Throughout my years of life, my father has always worked for charity, and recently he has chosen the Ronald McDonald House as his charity. Right now he is on the Board of Directors for the Ronald McDonald House of Central and Northern New Jersey. I want to follow in his footsteps and help others.
Any and every dollar counts to making the Houses better. So please help me by donating what you can to make sure very ill children can have their families stay close by at the Ronald McDonald House while they are healing in the hospital.
