The spinal surgery this injured Ukrainian soldier needs is not available in Ukraine. A young man in his 20s, he went to fight pro-Russian separatists in the East of Ukraine. His country should have been celebrating the new-found independence gained after Maidan, but now thousands of young adults are thrust into a war on their own territory.
Injured in battle, Maxim has a damaged spine and requires a spinal surgery that is not currently available in Ukraine. If he can raise enough funds, this young man would be able to get the surgery abroad.
Thanks to the generosity of donors in Ukraine and the U.S., we have already raised $1,000 that we hand delivered to the young man and his mother in a hospital in Kiev. All funds raised on Crowdrise will similarly be hand delivered to the family. We thank you for considering a donation for Maxim.
You can read a post about him here (in Ukrainian). If you have any questions please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
