OK, its pretty simple. Childhood cancer is the #1 disease killer of children in the US... more than the next 5 deadliest diseases combined!
Meanwhile, the National Cancer Institute designates less than 4% of its budget to childhood cancers. American Cancer Society? They pulled all their support for childhood cancer in 2012. It's been left to organizations big and small, and volunteers around the country that prioritize childhood cancer above all else, to continue to raise money and advocate for more resources for kids fighting cancer.
Just $2,000 will fund one child completely on a potentially life-saving, life-extending clinical trial. This is real hope for families who don't have a lot when they hear the words, "your child has cancer."
Please help me raise my share of the $2,000 goal - just $100 (more, of course, is always good!). I'll be running in memory of Max and dozens of other kids whose names are written on my running jersey.
Thanks for visiting.
