Maxwell's new home!
Organized by: Sadie May
On October 6, 2016 my partner and I found a lost dog tangled up in some brambles near where we were camping. We have been traveling across the United States in our makeshift home/van and we already have a small dog, Milo. Corey waited waist deep through a swamp and thorns and briars to rescue a scared, trembling black lab mix puppy. He doesn't seem to know how to walk on a leash and is terrified of people with their hands raised. We looked everywhere for his original owner, going as far as the local vets and pet centers but no one has been looking for him. While we were looking for his owners we noticed that he was covered in fleas and had chewed off most of his fur on his hindquarters trying to get the fleas off. We did not want to send him to the pound so that he might not get adopted and end up getting put down. Our original plan was to try to find him a good home on our journeys but, as expected, we fell in love with him. He's a very good boy but need some training and quite a bit of medical help. We have found some low income places that are willing to help us out getting him fixed and up-to-date on his shots, but we also believe that he's been having allergic reaction to the fleas and he will probably need some medication. We are not asking for much and if you do not have it to give we do not expect it but we are hoping that perhaps there are some other kind souls out there willing to help us financially get this pump back to a healthy condition. we have a lot of love in our heart for this dog and almost enough room in our van but we are running on a budget currently. We are hoping to have jobs within the next month in our new home area that we have planned but in order to keep him healthy and Us still fed we might need a little bit of help. thank you in advance to anyone who has the heart to help us out. I promise that 100% of the money will go toward Maxwell and his recovery into being a happy, healthy puppy dog .
