We want to raise $25,000 to help get our rainforest superfood, Maya Nut, into grocery stores in the US and Central America. Maya Nut is an ancient rainforest food, which was a staple food for paleolithic hunter-gatherer cultures. We are rescuing lost knowledge about it for food and income for rural and indigenous women and girls in Central America, Mexico and the Caribbean. We want to use Maya Nut marketing in the US and in Central America to create incentives for rainforest conservation and reforestation. So far, as a result of our programs, we have planted more than 2 million new Maya Nut trees and have provided 20,000 rural women and girls with the skills and information they need to better feed their families. Our work has laid the groundwork for 25 women's Maya Nut producer groups to form. These will provide the Maya Nut for this new business we are creating. So far these businesses have allowed rural women to increase their annual family incomes by 10-25%!!!!
Please help if you can, no amount is too small.
