A plea to my friends in New York State.
As many of you know, I have been active in a wonderful charity called Maya's Hope whose mission is to improve the quality of life of children in need. After 3 years in operation, we are at a point that we must make a significant investment in our operational infrastructure in order to continue to fund our programs. We have leased a small office space, hired a part-time bookkeeper, and are beginning the process of our first audit. Or course, all of these things cost money, and our tireless founder, Maya Rowencak, is still working 80+ hours per week with no pay.
In order to sustain our growth, we need to boost our fundraising efforts considerably, which means we must register as a charity (i.e., able to solicit contributions) in every jurisdiction in the U.S. This is both time consuming and expensive, but necessary.
If you can help out with a donation to offset these registration costs, please make a secure payment online at www.mayashope.org/donate_reg. Honestly, every small donation adds up. I am committed to completing this registration process this quarter, and as such, Monte Albers de Leon and I will fund the cost personally of whatever is not raised by this appeal. If each of you donate even $10.00, we can get halfway there.
With much appreciation,
Michael — feeling determined.
