I am running with The May Institute in the Falmouth Road Race to change the future of children and adults with autism, traumatic brain injury, developmental disabilities, emotional and behavioral disabilities, and many other special needs.
I began working at The May Center for Child Development in 2009. I see everyday how much potential each and every student has, and I am committed to supporting these programs. I am proud to work at such an incredible school. We are one of the largest nonprofits in Massachusetts, one of the largest service providers for children and adults with developmental disabilities in New England, and operate the most special education schools in New England.
Every dollar I raise will directly benefit these individuals. Through my efforts, I will put books in the hands of young students learning to read, help children speak their first words through assistive technology, allow residential students the opportunity to play on a playground in their backyard, and give teenagers and adults vocational training to increase their independence.
In the past, donor support has:
-Increased the number of families served through our Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinic and outreach sites by 16%;
-Serve 86% more military families who have a child with autism;
-Increased the number of adults with disabilities enrolled in our training and support employment program by 15%;
-Provide intensive early intervention and home-based therapy to 18% more families; and
-Almost double the number of children who benefited from our school consultation services.
We serve over 8,500 families across 14 states and need the help from people like you to continue to do amazing work with individuals diagnosed with autism, brain injury, and other special needs. Any little bit helps make a big difference!
