BENEFITING: EDGE Youth Leadership
EVENT DATE: Jun 14, 2016
In 2013, I was offered the opportunity to attend EDGE by Ms.Honegger, my history teacher. I almost didn't go. The conference that year fell on my birthday, and I considered just spending my birthday at home. Deciding to go to EDGE was one of the best decisions I've ever made. At EDGE, I found myself as a leader and as a person. I've met some of my very best friends, friends who I consider family. I found a beautiful community that I want to continue being part of for many years to come. After attending the conference as a sophomore, I went back the next year as JCrew, and for the past two years, I have been a member of the recruitment committee, hoping to provide more sophomores with the incredible experience that I've had. I always have a hard time explaining what EDGE is and what it means to me, but in-short, it is a non-profit organization that puts on a weekend-long annual seminar, completely free to the high school sophomores who attend.
