BENEFITING: MBA Open Doors Foundation
ORGANIZER: MBA Open Doors Foundation
EVENT DATE: Nov 06, 2016
As many of you may know, I am in the business of helping to provide affordable and safe housing for families across the country. I am very passionate about the work that I do, largely because I have been blessed to have always felt secure and stable while growing up, and wish the same for others. Unfortunately, I know that this is not always the case, especially for families facing challenging circumstances.
In order to support a charity whose mission is close to my heart, I will be running the New York City Marathon as part of the Mortgage Bankers Association's New York City 2016 marathon team to benefit the MBA's Opens Doors Foundation. The race will take place on November 6, 2016. If you are visiting this page, you are in some way a part of my life and I would welcome you to help my efforts in providing some support for families in need.
The Opens Doors Foundation's primary initiative is to make mortgage and rental assistance payment grants to parents and guardians with critically ill and injured children, allowing them to take unpaid leave from work. This gives them the precious time they need to spend together without jeopardizing their cherished homes. The grants provided by the Opens Doors Foundation allows family financial providers to focus on the care, comfort, and recovery of their children, with the peace of mind of knowing that their monthly housing payments will be taken care of during this most difficult time.
I would appreciate you donating to the cause in any way you can. If the mission of this charity strikes a chord with you, as it does with me, please feel free to share this page. All donations will go directly to the MBA's Opens Doors Foundation.

The MBA Opens Doors Foundation seeks to aid, nurture and empower people and communities by developing and supporting programs that promote and defend sustainable homes for American families. The Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA) is committed to helping families around the country find comfort in their homes when they are at their most vulnerable. To that end, the MBA Opens Doors Foundation sponsors philanthropic programs focused on home and community support. The MBA Opens Doors Foundation Home Grant Assistance Program enables designated health care partners identify and provide program information to families that may benefit from financial support. The MBA Opens Doors Foundation was envisioned by board members Dan Arrigoni and Dave Stevens in 2011. MBA donated the first $50,000, soon to be followed by donations from generous members. The Foundation was granted 501(c)3 status in early 2012. The Foundation commenced efforts with Children’s National Medical System of Washington, D.C. in the summer of 2012, and began awarding mortgage assistance grants to qualified families in late 2012.
