Team MBHP is ready for Race Day!
April 15, 2017
The five runners of Team MBHP 2017 join past teams since 2006, that have raised more than $300,000 to support MBHP and the programs and services that prevent families and individuals throughout Greater Boston every year, from becoming homeless.
Please support them-and take a moment over the next five months to get to know them. This is how long they will be training, some of the slogging through winter slush and snow. It is how long they will be raising $6,000- $10,000 to help people be safe, as they still work every day, as some take care of their kids and as they have to pay their own bills. And because each runner has their own story, and their own reason for taking this challenge.
About MBHP: MBHP is dedicated to connecting the residents of Greater Boston with safe, decent homes they can afford. MBHP serves residents with low and moderate incomes in the City of Boston and 32 surrounding communities. We administer 9,600 housing subsidies, partner with 4,300 property owners, and provide emergency funding to 2,000+ households facing housing crises every year. We assist more than 20,000 people who call or walk in to our office with concerns about their housing and provide onsite Fair Housing assistance and specialized case management to those who need it. Our educational workshops reach more than 1,500 tenants, homeowners and service partners annually. We provide services in eight offsite locations, with a ninth to be added this year. As practitioners and advocates, we combine hands-on experience with in-depth research to effect system change.
