The Manhattan Childrens Center was established with the belief that all children with autism and related disabilities need an educational opportunity that allows them to maximize their potential so that they can be thriving, happy and contributing members of their communities. Our empirically based educational approach of applied behavior analysis, transdisciplinary collaboration, high expectations and highly regarded faculty training set MCC apart as a model school for best practices in special education.
Eight years after MCC’s founding, we are making plans to join our world-class curriculum and teaching practices with a building infrastructure that matches the extraordinary quality of our programs. Doing so will provide our diverse student body the materials and facilities to grow academically, physically and in their job skills as they become young adults. With 1 in every 68 children being diagnosed on the autism spectrum, and over 50,000 of those children reaching adulthood each year, it is critical that we provide the education and related services to help these children and young adults achieve these goals. These preparations for independent living and employment are the most critical so that our students can be contributing members within their home communities rather than consumers of resources.
As a donor to the MCC Capital Campaign, you are investing not only in our students’ futures, but also in the future of a worthy mission: to offer every child an opportunity to enjoy a quality of life and emerge as an integrated member of society. With your help, we will leave a legacy that will impact hundreds of children, thousands of families, and the community at large.
We encourage you to give generously and join us in the legacy of MCC. Help us make MCC grow!
