Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page! I want to take just a moment to tell you a little about my family and ask you for just a bit of help. In February of 1996 my Father passed away after a 10-year battle with early onset Alzheimer’s Disease. My father was 56 when he died and left a wife, two sons, and a daughter. My family lived through the destructive effects of Alzheimer’s at a time in which the medical advances and family support that exist today were not available. We watched day after day for many years as our Father’s ability to be the man we knew deteriorated to the point of needing 24 hour care at the age of 55. Since that day in 1996 our family has grown considerably myself and my 2 siblings are all married as well as my parents now have 3 amazing granddaughters, my little lady was born in May!!. In the last few years our family has taken an active role in the fight to help end the effects of this disease. I feel just as importantly we have joined a movement to help the families that are currently dealing with this disease. We have done this through participation in events that benefit groups like the McCourt Foundation and The Alzheimers Association. My Sister, Brother and I have participated in events and raised as a family about $6000 to help families who, like us many years ago, are in need of immediate help. This spring I have decided to take this battle to the next level and run The Boston Marathon as a member of the 2015 McCourt Foundation Marathon team. I will be training and running the race in honor of my father and raising money to support this great foundation. Now comes your part in this! My goal is to raise $10,000 to help fund imprtant medical research to combat this disease and I need all the help I can to get there. I have been training for the last couple months and will continue to train until Monday April 20th. What I need now are donations for this great cause. Donating is fast and easy right here on this page! I appreciate every single dollar that comes in and no donation is to small……or too large!
