Today, nearly 90 individuals at McGuire Memorial’s Community Home program enjoy the freedom to choose roommates, furnish and decorate their sleeping or living units, receive scheduled and unscheduled visitors, seek employment, control personal resources, and have the support to control their own schedules, activities and food in a setting that is physically accessible. All of our residents rely on the kindness and generosity of others to provide them with this lifestyle opportunity.
Our goal is to pay off one mortgage each year to provide individuals with disabilities with a caring environment that encourages them to make their own choices and live as independently as possible.
Purchasing a home for McGjuire residents not only provides them with the Gift of Independence, it also ensures that their future is more secure, the routines that they have established become less uncertain, and that more dollars can be allocated toward training, work and leisure opportunities that enrich their lives.
At this year's "Special Auction for Special People", our guests responded to our appeal and donated over $68,000. We are hoping that you can help us to make up the balance of our $200,000 goal by making a gift and forwarding this appeal to your friends and family.
