In April 2011 Rebuilding Together Peninsula will be making improvements to the McKinley School campus. By raising additional funds, we will be able to expand this project to include the Auditorium—a space desperately in need of costly and specialized repairs. Our repair priorities include:
Replace the stage curtain | replace the stage floor | green room upgrades | create prop storage |add seat numbers | paint the theater interior | sound system evaluation
RTP specializes in leveraging. For this project we have already secured a local corporate sponsor to bring volunteers and additional funding, the commitment of the Stagehands Union, Local 16 to help with specialize repairs related to flooring, curtains and sound and we are also working on in-kind donations from trusted vendors. These resources will allow us to turn every $1 spent into $5-$7 worth of improvements. Still, we need to raise additional funds for expensive materials like curtains and flooring.
Every donation will make a difference in how much can be done and will be part of the renovation that will impact thousands of Redwood City school children for years to come.
Donations of $500 or more received by April 15, 2011 will be honored on a plaque, permanently displayed in the McKinley Auditorium.
