The Small and Large Cell Cervical Cancer Sisterhood is a support group for women diagnosed with Small and Large Cell Neuroendocrine Cervical Cancer and their supporters. MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston has taken up the cause and started a research fund for the benefit of women diagnosed with these rare cancers, that has been going strong for almost 4 years now. We have funded a tumor registry (NeCTuR), an informational site for women and their families who have been touched by these cancers (necervix.com), and are now looking to fund molecular testing of tumors for women diagnosed and hopefully a clinical trial. We do not have any celebrity backing and no government funding, so we do what we can, dollar by dollar.
Small and Large Cell Cervical Cancer are rare and aggressive forms of cancer, with no set protocol for treatment and a very poor prognosis for survival. About 250 women are diagnosed each year in the U.S. with these cancers. The number worldwide is still unknown. Please help us keep this funding going and help make the difference in the lives of women affected by these cancers. No amount is too small.
Thank you for your time in reading this and we also thank you for your support.
